Caring for people with intellectual disabilities at the end of life

Principal Investigators:
Martin Viola
Research Description:

People with intellectual disabilities face significant discrimination and may receive substandard medical care. The below videos are a resource for students and clinicians to learn more about caring for this population at the end of life and improve their clinical skills. These videos were made with the input of people with disabilities, their families, advocates, and clinicians, and are based on a review of the available research. We are grateful to The WITH Foundation, who supported this project, and ArtEnables and Maurice Barnes, Charmaine Jones, Robert Corcoran, and Nonja Tiller, whose artwork is used in these videos. A transcript of these videos, as well as a one page summary, is available for download here.
